Junior Surf Carnival #1

FIRST NIPPER CARNIVAL THIS WEEKEND!

BEACH : Worser Bay
DATE:   Sunday 23rd November.
TIME TO MEET: from 8.30am to set up marquees and gear. Parking always
fills up quick so we recommend an early arrival.

We will pack the trailer at 4pm on Saturday if you can come and give us a
hand!

Please note that carnival "uniform" is black or green or club togs, nipper
rashtop. High-vis rashtops are compulsory at all carnivals. For boys,
Speedos or knix (tight swim trunks like cycle pants) are compulsory. NO
boardshorts, rugby shorts or baggy pants to be worn.

U10's can wear wetsuits and over 10's bring your wetsuit just in case. If
conditions are poor they may allow them to be worn. Bring warm gear for
between races.

Bring: FOOD and WATER
       SUNSCREEN
       WARM CLOTHING
       At least 2 towels per child.
       Cash - most clubs have a sausage sizzle at the beach.

SIGN - IN & SIGN OUT:

Sign in is just as important at carnivals as it is at the club. We really
need to make sure that all our nippers are present and accounted for and I
need to provide Surf Officials with a list of our competitors on the day.
If you have a club white and green surf cap please bring it along.

PLEASE REMEMBER..... even if you have a cap you still need to sign in AND
out.

Carnivals are AGE based. However old your child was on the 31st of
September this year is their competing age. So groups will be Under 8
Girls, Under 8 Boys.. Under 9 Girls, Under 9 Boys etc.

For those parents concerned about their child's ability, please don't
worry. No child will be made to do any event they are not comfortable
with. There will be lots of newcomers all in the same position and it's
important to give it a go. They have practiced every event they will do at
carnival, except sprints, and they can all run!!

Remember OCEANS kids that you must attend carnivals to be considered for
Oceans.

Club Merchandise Day: Suzette will be at the club THIS FRIDAY (21st)  5.30
- 6.30 selling hoodies, tees, togs etc. Get your gear before the carnival!
It would amazing to have as many kids in club merchandise as possible!

We look forward to seeing you at Worser Bay bright and early on Sunday
morning. If you haven't signed up just send me an email, we need confirmed
numbers so we take the right amount of gear.

PLEASE NOTE: THERE IS NO CLUB SESSION ON CARNIVAL DAYS.... another great
reason to come and join in.
