Rescue from the North End rip

Posted by Administrator on Monday, 2 November 2020
Not too long ago we shared a story from Riversdale that was the epitome of being in the 'right place at the right time'. This weekend we said the same thing at Titahi Bay.
IRB operators J'Adoube and Mac just so happened to be retrieving the buoys from the lifeguard refresher swim, when they were alerted by members of the public to an incident unfolding at the North End of the beach.
Navigating through tricky surf conditions, the boys reached three young swimmers in serious trouble. Read more about the incident at the link provided, plus hear Mac recounting the situation in his radio interview with Radio New Zealand.
Well done to all the team involved in ensuring that the victims got home safely.
